BASEMENT CLEANING SERVICES

Professional basement cleaning services can certainly run the gamut, when it comes to making a basement clean and in good order.  One of the first things under consideration in any basement cleanup is to make sure the basement moisture levels are low, in terms of humidity.  If the basement is wet or has too much moisture in it, then it makes the basement cleaning process a bit more difficult.  To assist with keeping moisture levels at a low ebb, you might want to set up a dehumidifier or a couple of them to drain moisture levels down.  Proper airflow is essential in basements as well.  Too much moisture or even leaks from the foundation coupled with dirt and the possibility of mold, can be a not so good combination for professional basement cleaning.

After humidity levels are down to normal, somewhere around 68 degrees or lower then the presence of the possibility of mold contaminants that cause breathing problems can be eradicated.  When calling for basement cleaning services be sure to know the dimensions of the basement.  This makes it easier to give a free estimate with pricing and time frame to finish the project.  Its always a good idea if you are able, to have unwanted items removed or discarded beforehand.  Otherwise, the basement cleaning services company will have to make arrangements to discard the items or throw them away.

Some customers use the sticky note method.  This is where you the customer writes on a post-it note what items they want tossed and the ones that will remain.  Some customers prefer to be on the premises to go through the items piece by piece.  Whichever method you choose the basement cleaning company should be open and willing to accommodate.

In Chicago and suburbs the company to call to get your basement cleaning project done and done right is The CleanUP Guys.  We offer same, emergency and special basement cleaning services for just about every need, commercial or residential.  Here's to doing basement cleaning right!

Basement Cleaning

When it comes to basement cleaning there are certain fundamentals that go without question.
1. Appearance.
2. Smell.
3. Humidity.
4. Organization.
5. Cleanliness.

These steps are certainly basics regarding basement cleaning services that should never go unaddressed.  A checklist in most cases after analyzing it, seems to always miss one important factor.  Humidity.  If the humidity in the basement is not controlled properly all sorts of crazy things can happen.  It can certainly affect all the other areas mentioned above.  It surfaces in wet or moist documents, equipment or furniture.  It can cause buckling walls, floor boards, wood trim, door trims.  If there is too much humidity in the basement that unwanted friend can creep in.  We know him as mold.  Mold loves moisture.  It thrives there.  It can feed on porous materials because of not keeping an ally in check.  Humidity.

So many basements do not have proper air flow to allow for circulation, and ventilation.  If air is flowing through the basement on occasion, it helps to cut down on humidity levels and keeps moisture at bay.  It might even be a good idea to install or setup if you will, a dehumidifier regularly to keep moisture and humidity levels in check.  Of course, the more porous the basement is the greater the chance of mold eating away at it.  That doesn't mean that mold can't rest on non-porous services.  It eats and spreads faster with porous materials.

A good basement cleaning company will take this factor into consideration when cleaning up a basement.  Its moisture content level, and thereby its humidity readings.  High humidity spells danger for a basement.  Humidity kept in check can render a basement clean, smelling good, and remaining well maintained.  A periodic inspection of your basement area can help you to keep things in order.

In the next series on basement cleanup, we will discuss more the point of appearance.  No two basements are alike, so each one must be approached from the standpoint of the customer's needs, the structure of the basement, the materials in the basement and the items that are stored there.

A professional basement cleaning company knows how to go about a systematic approach to good basement cleanup.  Remember, controlling your humidity levels in your basement will help you with appearance, organization, cleanliness and smell.  Good health to you.
